Kalan is a vegetarian dish of Kerala, an old favorite dish whose Malayalis proudly claims. Although it is a simple enough dish to make, a well-made kalan always attracts praise. As part of a half sadhya(traditional vegetarian feast) young generation knows this best. Kalan is different from all yogurt / curd based gravy and it is very easy with some rice, the ultimate comfort food and any spicy vegetable is fry on millet.
It is very thick, which separates it from the same curry, which is called pulseery and is more sour. For this reason, the Kalan will survive when it will be stored.
