The St. Angelo fort is one of the popular and the oldest fort of the Kannur district in Kerala state. This fort is faced with the Arabian Sea that provides a mesmerizing view during the time of sunrise and sunset. The architectural structure of this fort is so attractive and oldest in the Kerala. The fort was captured by the Dutch ten after selling to the Ali Raja of the Arakkal Dynasty. After that it is taken by the British government and turned into the main army center of the Malabar region. Now it is maintained and arranged under the central Archaeology department.
