Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple (Kochi)

Kodungallur Bhagavathy temple is a hindu temple in the kodungallur, Thrissur district in Kerala.

This temple is dedicated to the Goddess Bhadrakali, a form of goddess Kali. The another name of the Goddess Bhadrakali is the Sri Kurumbha and Kodungallur Amma.

The temple also houses the images of Lord ganapathi and Lord Veerabhadra. There is a small shrine in the temple that is dedicated for the Samadhi of Vysoori, dedicated to the Goddess of contagious diseases.

The sacred pond also known as the Pushakarini pond is also popular pond in the temple. This pond is bathing pond for the people who want to enter in the shrine.

The temple is managed by the Cochin Devaswom board. The Bharani festival is the famous festival for this temple celebrated in the month of March – April. One more festival is the Thalppoli that is also very important for this temple. This festival is celebrated in the month of January – February. This festival is so popular in the Kerala in which some of the elephants are decorated and taken out to the temple.
